A thinker and dreamer; always remains mysterious.
Born in Paris, Alou studied illustration and animation at the Émile Cohl School of Arts. He found inspiration by moving around Burgundy and Lyon.
After a few years he left for Lièges, Belgium where he practised oil painting at the prestigious SaintLuc Art school.
Alou, an artist who had grown up in a privileged home, wasn’t afraid of leaving home at the age of sixteen and discovering the real world on his own. It is what inspired him.
Alou is a thinker, a dreamer, who refuses to be called a surrealist simply because people should not be categorized. Alou is open to others and enjoys conversations, but he always remains mysterious. Some artists are confessional, but he refuses to fully reveal himself, even in his artwork. Alou does not own an agenda. He spends more time being spontaneous and following his instincts. Being surrounded by people is important for him.
Alou captures everything that interests him and re-interprets it. Alou will love whatever will surpass reality, surprises him, intrigues him: “Art has no limits!”
